We are in Dumaguete, Philippines for a Kids Camp with International Care Ministries. A team of about 40 people, including kids, will be conducting a four-day Christian "kids camp" for about 100 kids from Dumaguete slums. If you remember, last June Sebastian and I went on an ICM Building Trip when we met a boy named "JR." The two of them hit it off right away. Well, ICM arranged for JR to come to Dumaguete from Bacolod. They were reunited tonight and spent an hour catching frogs. I guess no matter where one is in life, regardless of background, boys will be boys and want to catch frogs.
The Kids Camp starts tomorrow. Today we had a chance to see some of the ICM projects: a pre-school (below), "Transform Community" and an ICM Orphanage. The stories at the orphanage were mind blowing. Along the way we took polaroid pictures of many kids and families, giving them the instant pictures right away. Feels so natural to be here - as if it's the exact right thing we're supposed to be doing. Strange. Stay tuned for more details.
You are amazing! Thanks for your message and the waves… Much love to you all
